What is the biggest problem your clients have when recruiting?
The data and technology market in Europe is heavily candidate driven – meaning there are lots of firms looking for very similar profiles. Those ‘in demand’ candidates are a rare commodity and tend to have various opportunities at any given time.
What is the most important skill as a recruiter?
A candidate short market is the main thing generally. However, after doing some market research it now appears that struggling businesses are forced to make redundancies, resulting in a influx of candidates on the market - meaning the blue chip firms and their talent acquisition teams can bring them in as the names sell themselves. This then leaves start-ups, SME’s and the niche firms struggling to acquire exceptional candidates.
What is the most important skill as a recruiter?
Don’t title yourself as a “market specialist”. Become one. Take an active interest in your client’s mission and their goals. Treat your candidates as you would your clients.
